Take a star turn with Katie Lohmann, our Miss April 2001. She’s petite – 5’4” – with platinum-blonde hair, brown eyes and a taste for the good things in life. Katie had always dreamed of being a model, but little did she know that a tryout for Playboy's Spring Break pictorial would lead her all the way to the Centerfold. Born in Scottsdale, a comfortable suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, Katie showed an early aptitude for performance – when she was eight, she performed a song from The Little Mermaid on stage, receiving a standing ovation. “I was the only girl on the high school wrestling team,” she says proudly. “I was voted ‘most aggressive’ in the lightweight division.” An aspiring actress, Katie was eager to leave Arizona in the dust – following her spread for Playboy, she moved to Los Angeles to follow her dreams. With roles in Tomcats, Rude Awakening and a part as a robot in AI: Artificial Intelligence, our Miss April 2001 was well on her way. “I told my mom that I had three wishes,” she says, reminiscing. “To be a Playmate, to be in movies and to win an award!” If you ask us, two out of three ain’t bad – but Katie’s ambitious, and she’s not content to let an opportunity pass her by. “I wouldn’t change being a Playmate for anything,” she says happily. “I’ve had so much fun at the Mansion, hanging with all the other Playmates! I’d tell you some of my juicy stories, but with The Girls Next Door, I don’t think I can tell you anything you don’t already know!” If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that we can’t get enough of Katie Lohmann.
